Server Virtualization

Virtualization turns one physical server into multiple virtual servers.  The most common software that can virtualize servers is VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V.  Virtualization allows multiple server operating systems whether they are Windows or UNIX to run side by side on the same server hardware.  Virtualization simplifies and reduces the cost of ownership by not having to have multiple separate servers and allowing you to invest into one larger and more powerful server.
